City Conducts Revenue Measure Survey

August 7, 2017) The City is currently conducting a REVENUE MEASURE SURVEY, seeking feedback for a potential ballot measure regarding Transient Occupancy Tax.

Residents may receive an email or telephone call from Fairbank, Maslin, Metz & Associates, the City’s hired research firm, asking them to complete a short survey. This sample survey is being sent to randomly selected email addresses and telephone numbers obtained by the City’s election polling consultant via publicly accessible sources, such as voter registration records. All individual responses and personal information are confidential.

TOT or Transient Occupancy Tax is included in the cost of hotel rentals for stays less than 30 days. On average, the City receives an estimated $1million in TOT annually, which helps pay for such things as public safety, and Recreation services, programs and facilities.
